The UAEs Central Pet Profile & Microchip Hub: Why Every Pet Parent Should Register on Where My Paws At

Why registering your pet’s profile matters (even if your pet isn’t microchipped yet)

When a pet goes missing, minutes matter. Where My Paws At (WMPA) gives vets, rescuers, and good Samaritans everything they need to contact you fast—without digging through scattered paperwork or outdated tags. By creating a pet profile, you centralize your pet’s essential details in one place that can be accessed securely by the right people, right when it counts.

Here’s what makes it powerful:

Central microchip database for the UAE

WMPA functions as a trusted lookup hub used by vets and rescuers to identify pets and contact owners quickly. If your pet is microchipped, adding the number to your profile means the right people can match your pet to you faster.

Works even without a microchip

Not microchipped yet? You can still register your pet today. Your WMPA profile acts as a digital ID—and if you use a WMPA smart tag, anyone who scans it can see your important details about your pet and reach you immediately.

Multiple pets - one account

House full of furry faces? Keep all your dogs and cats under one pet parent account, so updates (like address changes or new phone numbers) are simple and synchronized.

Fast reunions with smart tags (no subscription)

Pair your pet profile with a WMPA smart tag (QR/unique ID). If someone finds your pet and scans the tag, they’re guided to your pet’s profile with safe, owner-controlled contact options—no app download required for the finder.

Vital information at your fingertips

Store vet details, medications, allergies, behaviour notes (“nervous around men,” “food-motivated,” etc.), and emergency contacts—so anyone helping your pet has the right context.

How Where My Paws At helps vets, rescuers, and good Samaritans help you

When a found pet arrives at a clinic or is picked up by a rescuer, the first steps are simple: scan, search, and match. WMPA’s centralized records make it easy to identify the animal, confirm microchip details if present, and reach the owner fast. Even without a microchip, a WMPA tag scan immediately reveals your pet’s profile and your chosen contact method. That reduces stress for your pet and speeds up reunions.

Step-by-step: How to create your pet’s profile (it takes just a few minutes)

Download Where My Paws At
Install the app on your phone and open it.

    1. Create your pet parent account
Sign up with your email and create a password, then verify your details through an automated email sent to your chosen address. Add your primary phone and other important information.
    2. Add your first pet
      Tap Add Pet and enter:
      • Pet name, species, breed, sex, colour/markings
      • Date of birth (or best estimate)
      • Recent clear photo (face + any unique marks)
      • Microchip number (if your pet has one; you can add it later if not)
    3. Add safety and health info
      • Vet clinic
      • Medications, allergies, dietary needs
      • Behaviour notes (e.g., “bolts when startled,” “gentle with kids,” “wears harness”)
      • Any ongoing conditions rescuer/vet should know
    4. Link a WMPA smart tag (optional but recommended)
If you have a WMPA tag, tap Link Tag, scan the QR code and confirm. Your pet’s digital identity is now attached to a physical tag. (No subscription fees.)
    5. Repeat for your other pets
Keep each pet’s details updated under the same parent account. Moving home or changing numbers? Update once—changes apply across your profiles.
    6. Turn on Lost Mode if needed
If your pet goes missing, activate Lost Mode which triggers an instant alert system and generates a personalised missing pet poster which is shared with our network and community of over 11,000 people.

Real-world benefits for every UAE pet parent

  • Quicker reunions: A centralized profile helps match pets to owners rapidly—especially important when a microchip database is involved.
  • Reduced confusion in emergencies: Clear instructions and medical notes prevent mistakes (like feeding allergens or using the wrong leash approach).
  • Better preparedness: Even indoors-only pets can slip out; having a live profile and tag means you’re ready.
  • Travel and boarding made easier: Share a profile link with kennels or sitters so they have medical and contact info on hand.
  • Peace of mind for multi-pet homes: One account. Multiple profiles. Everything up-to-date.

Who is WMPA perfect for?

  • New adopters who want a digital record from day one
  • Families with multiple dogs and cats
  • Fosterers and rescuers who need simple, fast ID
  • Pet parents waiting for microchipping—or with pets too young for it yet
  • Anyone who wants a no-subscription smart tag that links to a living profile

Tips to make your profile “finder-ready”

  • Upload clear photos: one front-on face shot and one showing unique markings.
  • Add a phone number.
  • Keep vet info current—clinic name and number.
  • Use behaviour notes like “scared of loud noises—approach slowly” to help strangers handle your pet safely.
  • If you move or travel, update location and contacts immediately.
