With an ever-growing number of pet owners in the UAE, our mission to raise awareness on pet safety has never been more important.
Although it’s hard to get a true reflection of how many dogs and cats are living in the UAE, we know through our networks, that the numbers are increasing year on year. It’s great to see we’re living among pet lovers, however, it’s also frustrating to see how many pets go missing, are found and never reunited, are being abandoned, and how many strays suffer on our streets.
Whilst we help the strays in our communities, this is a topic for another time, and something that we are constantly working on.

Where My Paws At, is the first Dubai built app in the UAE. Available to every cat and dog owner across the UAE, our app has been developed and designed by pet parents who live in Dubai and have been through the trauma of losing their cat.
‘When I started Where My Paws At in 2023, I started out with a goal to help other pet parents in their time of need. When I lost my indoor cat Moo, those three days were a nightmare. With nothing in place to help us, we didn’t know what to do or where to start. It was because of this, I quickly learnt there was no central microchip database in the UAE that is effective. How Does Where My Paws At work?
Where My Paws At is a free app that is available on iOS and Android. Once downloaded, you register your details and create your own logins. Whether you have one dog or three cats, you can create multiple pet profiles under your parent account. This includes important information that can help identify your pet if they go missing.
Is Where My Paws At just another microchip database / platform?
No! Where My Paws At works with a network of people across all Emirates including vets, individual rescuers and registered animal charities. We do help bridge the gap with the ability to act as a microchip database, but more than that, our app connects the pet community instantly when a pet is missing or found. Our super smart technology allows pet parents to send out instant lost alerts which then triggers a complete process behind the scenes. A missing pet poster is automatically generated and personalised which goes out with the alert to our community. This can be shared by pet parents using our app to their wider network. Where My Paws At sends out your poster to our network of vets, rescuers and charities, as well as sharing across our social media platforms. Currently as of January 2025, we have a reach of nearly 10,000 people across our platforms.
What else does Where My Paws At do?
As well as being a pet safety platform, our app is community based, meaning, you shouldn’t wait to register if your pet goes missing. Our app is also connected to our smart pet tags, which use passive GPS. This means that once your tag is scanned, an alert is sent to your app with the exact location of where the tag has been scanned, making the reunification process seamless, smart and quick. Anyone with a camera phone can scan your tag, they don’t need to know about Where My Paws At, or have the app for the tag to do it’s magic.
